Do respondents need to download any software?
No. Respondents access the interview through a standard web browser using the unique link you share with them. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no app required.
How does the AI conduct the interview?
Talvi's AI works through your question list in order, asking each question in a natural conversational style. If you enable follow-up probing, it will ask clarifying questions when an answer is brief or unclear — always within the scope of the topic you set. You remain in full control of the question set.
What format are the transcripts delivered in?
Transcripts are delivered structured by question — each answer is paired with the question that prompted it and timestamped. You can download as PDF or plain text. They are delivered automatically when the interview concludes, with no manual action required from you.
Is Talvi GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Talvi is built from the ground up for UK and European teams operating under GDPR. Data is processed and stored within the EU, respondent consent is captured explicitly at the start of each interview, and you can delete any interview and its associated data at any time. A Data Processing Agreement is available for Team and enterprise customers.
Can I conduct multiple interviews in parallel?
Yes. On the Professional and Team plans there is no limit on concurrent interviews. You can distribute links to multiple respondents simultaneously and each interview runs independently. Transcripts are delivered individually as each one concludes.
What languages does Talvi support?
Talvi currently conducts interviews in English. Support for additional European languages is on the roadmap — if your research requires a specific language, contact us and we can advise on current availability.
How is Talvi different from transcription tools like Otter.ai or Grain?
Transcription tools record and transcribe calls that a human researcher conducts. Talvi replaces the human interviewer entirely — the AI conducts the conversation, records it, and transcribes it. You never need to be on the call. This removes scheduling friction entirely and lets you run interviews at scale without your own time.
